  • Do not get attached to any question. Solving a difficult question would fetch you the same marks as a easy ones. So invest your time in questions that are worth it. Else drop them.
  • Do not waste time rewriting questions on the rough sheet. Use the rough sheet only for calculations.
  • Save any difficult questions for the end. Do not invest any time on questions you know you are not sure of.
  • Assign time to each question and stick to it. Drop a question if it is taking much longer than your assigned time-per-question.Assign time to each question and stick to it.
  • Forget about the question you dropped. You are going to lose marks if you obsess over dropped questions.

SSC MTS Time Management Tips as per Subject

  • Before solving questions from Quant section, read the question carefully and decide whether  this question is worth solving in the limited time you have or not.
  • Apply your own strategies when you need.
    • If you are stronger in one subject, e.g. General Awareness, then allot less time for General Awareness and use the time for difficult subjects like Quant.
    • Questions in the Reasoning and Quant sections can be time consuming. Identify the short ones and comprehension questions without too many calculations and attempt those first.
    • So you need to attempt sufficient number of questions in each section.
  • Also, please don’t forget about 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
  • Practically it is not possible to attempt all the 100 questions. So choose the Qs which are easier & lass time consuming at starting & then go for moderate level Qs & if time left then solve difficult Qs.
